There isn’t a month on the calendar that doesn’t involve at least one event at Wicker Memorial Park. The pride and joy of North Township, Wicker Park is awash in activity every day of the year. Township Trustee Frank Mrvan has made life-enriching improvements part of his mission.
“We work on partnerships that provide educational and employment opportunities to our residents. We also wok to help people get back on their feet while providing nourishing food and weather appropriate clothing,” Mrvan said.
“As trustee, I always knew it was important to provide recreational and entertainment opportunities that are free or low-cost. We have worked diligently to provide our residents with the chance to enjoy a campout, volunteer for good causes, listen to great music and exercise in an outdoor setting.”
Wicker Park was a gift to the five communities. Mrvan said as trustee he and his staff are committed to being good stewards of the greenspace.
“Our hope is that every North Township resident finds a reason to visit the park at least once a year, hopefully more often,” he said. “If you haven’t attended an event recently, it’s time to look here to see what we offer. See you at the park!”
