As the township safety net, we create each year’s budget with the needs of our residents in mind. We build in programming dollars that assist our qualifying residents, who run into unexpected financial difficulties, with money to pay their utility bills. For other residents, our assistance helps provide money for food to tide them over.

We help when fires and floods strike. We also help residents find jobs.

Whenever possible, we partner with other agencies to reduce our costs.

Ultimately, though, township poor relief is our responsibility.

It would take a crystal ball to plan for every contingency a year in advance, but we try. Links to documents detailing North Township’s spending plan for this year – as well as prior years – may be found on the left side of this page.
